Need donor A/C compressor
I'm rebuilding my Nippondenso 6E171 compressor. Finally got the front valve off, discover one of the reed valves is broken
This means either get a replacement reed valve (or plate) or get a replacement compressor. Does anyone know where to get reed valves?? Or reed valve plates.

Just pm-ed Griffiths. Response was within half an hour. Outstanding communication! Unfortunately he didn't have any reed valves available.
So now I am looking for used valves. Does anyone have a spare 6E171 compressor laying around which you want to sell me as a donor?
The valves are on the plate left of gasket 17/18.

I've got several of these compressors. Shipping to Germany would be expensive. Perhaps I could take one apart and get just the reed valves out?

Michael, Greg, thank you both for thinking with me, I really appreciate it. Shipping would be expensive but sometimes beggars can't be choosers. I'm also looking in Germany. However I do only need the reed valve, so if Greg would want to go to that length that would be really fantastic.
Below is a picture of the compressor front plate, the reed valve plate and another reed plate. The reed valve plate has three reed valves. These are attached with machine screws (not in the picture). The broken reed valve is next to the reed valve plate.
On closer inspection the reed valve plate is worn where the broken piece has been working. I'm not sure the reed valve plate is still sealing well. So Greg, if you would do this, it would be better to send the complete reed valve plate. It is easier as well. The plate just sits on the front plate, it might just be a bit sticky due to the old gasket.
I was pretty bummed before but this is great. Thanks again.

Perhaps you could do something, for me....
I'm having a really tough time locating "Norma" clamps in 18, 19, and 20mm sizes. These are what they call a "Normaclamp "S". These are found in many spots on the 928....where the hoses attach to the bottom of the power steering reservour, where the hose front under the manifold attaches to the right hand side of the oil filler neck, etc. They are not the "worm drive" style clamps, which are also used in many places.
They are all the same dimensions, other than the diameter, which is stamped on the side. They are 9mm wide, with the "band material" .4mm thick. The screw that tightens the clamp is 4mm by 22mm long.
"Wurth" sells this style clamp, here in the US, but only up to 17mm and then 21mm and 25mm. According to the Norma website, they make these clamps in 1mm increments.
Could you check and see if these are available (do you have generic auto parts stores, like we have here?)

Hi Greg,
Great! Thanks a lot! That is really going to help me!
I'd be happy to look for you for the clamps. We have auto part stores, but not as extensive as in the US. In Germany mostly everything is industry to industry and private individuals take whatever they need fixing to an dealer or shop.
So I know where to look, what volume are you looking for?
