When my car died almost 2 years ago at my work. Bill offered to drive to South San Francisco to check out the car for me. I did not have the heart to impose on him as he got a long drive and he had a heart operation months before. So I towed the car to my Porsche mechanic and it turned out to be an ignition problem as Mike/86'928S MeteorGrey diagnosed. This just reminded me how great this community and Bill are. One of these days, I will drive up to Alamo to finally meet Bill Ball and have lunch finally. I will show him my long to do list.
Don't worry, I will bring a few bottles of Pediolytes.

Please take care of yourself. There's only one of you Bill.

A couple of clinic days have ended either very early the next morning, driving an owner home, or sending my car home with them to come back later to finish. There's always that risk lingering in the back of my head when we start planning. At our last clinic on Jonathan's car for mm/opg/front springs & shocks, it stretched to a couple days, plus a visit later for toe after the car settled, and another day for rear springs & shocks. Visitor Paul from Santa Barbara area maybe 90 miles away asked if he could do a TB/WP here. Sure. But there still has to be some contingency allowance for surprises. I spent a couple casual days doing my own TB/WP and there were no surprises. Could do mine in a day with no surprises. But there are often surprises. If I knew all the things to plan for, they wouldn't be surprises, right?

Bill is a lot more daring than I am...

...The pump must have just coincidentally gone south while we were removing the AFM. ...
I hate it when that coincidental thing happens. I tell myself, if this was a card game, I would fold and walk away - the odds are just too scary....Bruce

My last big 928 expense was an AC unit for my garage. Now I can work on the car in relative comfort.

I just purchase a nifty box fan for my comfort. $12 bucks at Target'. Keeps the mosquitoes off me, too!

I spent an hour or so looking at split system options for the garage. One handy estimator suggested I need 12000 BTU capacity. My handy experience based heat.load calculator (SWAG....) tells me that two to three time that much is needed. What are you guys looking at for AC capacity?

Yeah, in the garage, box fans are a big help. Unfortunately we had his car disabled in the driveway and the garage full, so we were out in the mid-day sun and I just didn't appreciate what it was doing to me. I felt fine until I got up after replacing the fuel pump. By then it was too late.

My ducting to the house is in the garage..any reason I could not put a large vent on that main line?

Man, that all sounds a LOT braver than me. I'm happier to travel to the other guy's place and do the work on the ground per chance we run into a stumbling block and don't finish, but this was supposed to be a (usually) quick AC job.

Give me building size, construction, ceiling height, insulation, window/glass size, and city/state, and I will run a rough / pretty accurate heat load calc sometime this week, if you like...

2 ton is gracious plenty for 20x30 garage. In most cases. I am going to insulate my 900 sq. ft. And put in whatever I can scavenge, but I will probably end up around 2 tons.

Freakin: This thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...re-w-pics.html

is a great primer. Dwayne shows you components, meter readings. It could probably help you describe the problem, if is something other than a leak.
