I was referring to the vaccum line to the diverter and not the air pipe to the filter, I can plainly see that it is missing the filter cover. There might be other lines disconnected such as the multi way one under the air box or even one under the intake if they have been messed with.
Yazid, the MAF (mass flow sensor) is the metal cylinder between the intake and the airbox, it has a wire inside and a electrical connector on the side, it measures the volume of air going into the engine. It needs to be reading correctly, yours has only done a small mileage so it should be ok, unless it has been damaged.

Thanks for providing the info of the car.. didn't realize it was manufactured for South Africa!
Will get in touch with Roger..
How's Tassie these days? You in Hobart? Used to live in Corio, Geelong for 5 years back in the 90's.. Actually may pay Melbourne a visit for new years..

My 82, even though it was definitely delivered here from Hamiltons Porsche in Melbourne, is also listed as C26 instead of C23 (Australia) .... I'm thinking that build must be very similar, or the same for both countries, and they shipped first available stock for Oz delivery.
Tassie is paradise and I love living here ... 10k's South of Hobart. I grew up as a kid in Port Fairy in western Victoria, teenage and adult life in Melbourne, and moved to Tassie in '92 and been here since, still have family in Melbourne and visit often ... it's a small world.
You should visit Hobart for New Years Eve ... huge food festival (Taste of Tasmania) and party time at the finish of the Sydney Hobart yacht race.

Just a lil update on my front for the S4:
So it took me a few months to get some parts flown in from the US and the UK. I've finally got my air conditioning condensor to work after getting the a/c specialist to look at it for 2 months!!! I've got the car being realigned and balanced at the wheels, however I have come to a major road block! I can't seem to find a complete set of tires for the S4! I have the OEM 16" wheels, thus tire sizes are the norm 225/50/16 F and 245/45/16 R. After going round the whole country, there seems to be no stockists.
So I get online and went to tirerack.com and 1010tires.com and to my amazement, no street tires are avail.. OMG i say!!!
Would appreciate if anyone in the forum be able to assist to an online tire supplier to where I can obtain a complete set.
The other alternative would most probably be getting a 17" or 18" wheel upgrade, which I don't intend at all to do as I want to keep the car in its original condition as much as possible.

Bridgestone stopped making the Fuzions and after much complaining from Porsche owners, started producing the Bridgestone RE11 in these sizes. Their site shows the 245 on closeout in both brands, which is wierd, so not sure what's going on there. Hopefully they haven't changed their minds.
Agree w/Rod, recommend calling them.

I just chatted with Tire Rack. Here's the scoop:
Bridgestone is discontinuing the RE-11 in most sizes. Some sizes now have the new RE-11A. Bridgestone has told us they may make the RE-11A in the 245/45R16 size but it won't be for 2-3 months, maybe longer.
Bridgestone found some Fuzions in their warehouse, so Tire Rack bought them up. They were manufactured in Feb 2011, so still fairly new with the assumption that they were properly stored.
I have a set of Fuzions on my stock rims and I've found them to be a bit noisy.

Managed to get in touch with Ben from Tire Rack and he's confirmed they do not have any street tires available.. will need to do more research around the border towns if they have any available..
Would anyone from Australia know if there any available?

There are more choices in the UK - they can still get Continental N-rated tyres in the S4 sizes, as well as the Toyo's, and I believe Michelins too.
http://www.ears.co.uk/
http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/
Both those places had some (I haven't checked now - those are from my bookmarks from a while ago).

Last time I checked (about 6 months ago) we can still get Toyo Proxes T1R in the correct sizes for S4 here in Oz.

Here's an update on where we are:
After replacing many lil items in the engine bay, got the car to start and run smoothly. Managed to get new tires however not the same models. Bridgestone RE02 on the front and Bridgestone S02's on the rears. Will have to order more sets online in future.
The pictures attached are taken from my handy man who took the car to the wash and got it cleaned up and polished. Will be seeing the shark tomorrow morn to update the sound system and sort out it's road tax and insurance.
Cheers,
Yaz
