Want to learn more about automotive fittings-someone learn me?
I think automotive liquid transfer/hose/fittings are a separate subject that can be learned. It's pretty broad. I want to convert a bunch of my liquid lines to -AN, but i don't know where the hell to start. It's not covered in my automotive textbook.
Can someone learn me fittings so i know where to start?

I'd start with Carroll Smith's classic:
Greg Brown knows an awful lot about fluid handling in automotive applications, he's got two rooms dedicated to fittings and custom hose manufacture, and a stand-alone company selling them- j2precisionhose.com.

To convert from metric to AN almost always requires an adaptor....which is just another place to leak.
I've spent 1,000's and 1,000's of dollars (in my hose business) sourcing, buying, and having fittings made that go directly from metric pieces to "AN" style hose.....just to avoid "extra" adaptors.
Note that most of the hose we use today isn't "AN" specification, but mostly telfon lined hose...which is a huge step beyond AN specifications.
