If I remember right this car had a very minimal role among all the cars used for the movie. The main car has never been found, has it?

Proceeds from the sale of this car will go toward Cruise's custody battle for Suri.

I think that the main car was sold to someone in France.

Yeah, which "Risky" car is it.

As I recall there were four or five different cars used. the one that went in the drink was a "roller" with no engine.

The real "Risky" part is bidding on whatever it is that they're auctioning.

This car was known as the "fill car" on the movie as the main car was actually an auto. It was used in wide shots where the whole car was seen and the producer claims that he taught Cruise how to drive a stick in it.

I hope with 100K on the car that it has been through a restoration.

Dan,
My understanding is it was a lipstick restoration, primarily new paint.

Getting those kind of numbers would suggest class 1A collectability.

Def. not a 1, so it would have to be all about the Tom Cruise learning how do drive a stick provenance.

Anyway you cut it, this is all great press for the 928!

This is the archetypal 928, and associated movie thereof, of the next generation of collectors.
Will be a great barometer of whether or not they are ready out shell of unrealistic coin at something they pine for from their youth.

They've already proved willingness to do so with "Smokey and the Bandit" Birds.

Quick Reply: Cruise's Risky Biz 928 to be auctioned. Expect $40-60k?
