Greg ...This is every bit as good as I imagined it was going to be ... and that's not really any surprise as I know you are a perfectionist; and that's why I've been happy to wait until you've had the time to finalise the details and to make the components.
It looks beautifully 'stock'. I'm looking forward to getting my kit installed and getting my engine running like it should .... thanks to your design.
Thank you for your dedication to getting this perfect before release.

I've always wondered if the S3 engines force more oil into the intake system, or if the oil is simply more visible, because the side plenums can be removed.

Greg,
Is there a difference between the '92 GTS and '93 GTS engines?? I thought they were the same...both 5.4L. You do say something about early '93 vs late '93 engines... Just curious what that difference is?
Thinking seriously about this for my '95. It needs to have its intake (and thus the rest, ie cam covers) removed for fuel line replacement as well as refinishing of the intake...looks like total crap!

I think that Rob Edwards might have a picture of this?
The first time I saw this, I thought it was something that some "hack" had done, under some tree. However, I've seen this too many times, on too many "virgin" engines for it to be "hacked" by anyone but Porsche.
They were really "confused" on what they needed to do to make these engines ventilate and breathe properly. Clearly, on the "marine" engines, their solution was to install a giant pan and "cover their asses" with that "patch".
Sad, but gives us "tuners" something to think about.

Greg, I bet those parts work as well as they look.
It seems like oiling issues are always "out there".However, I wanted to get a sense of how much concern I should have auto crossing with stock configuration (street tires) in a well maintained car? I am planning on AX my S3, at a local PCA event, in August. This will be my first in any 928.
Thanks

If you go look at videos of prior PCA autocross you will see that you run a lap get back in line wait quite a while than run another lap. The course is small, tight, lots of quick turns, no long high speed high RPM sweepers. The engine sounds from the video show how short a time they are at high RPM. On street tires stock weight car it would be hard to hurt a 928 engine at such an autocross. Reality is your oil will not even get hot so warm it up prior to your run.
Thanks Brutus. I have AX my old 944 at a few of them. Sounds like it shouldn't be much of a concern for a stock 928 then.
