With those sort of price increases, I believe it will not take much of a "bump" for an insurance company to write off a 928. Small front incident, new spoiler, new fenders, new hood, new spoiler metal bracket ... and the car is done.

I find this rather funny, if the price increases are actually that and not transcription errors, that Porsche is busy pushing the "Classic" concept. Price increases like this will quickly "kill" the desire to rebuild a "Classic". Just too expensive

What does that part do on a pre-90 car anyway, besides make it a PITA to get to the condenser bolts?

When it comes to money out of my pocket I like things clear and unambiguous.

Was $78.67 and increased to $239.70 which is an increase of 204.69%

As the price of parts increase dramatically more 928s will be parted out or crushed. Sad.

^^^
I thought Marks posts were pretty clear ... that's precisely what I read it to be plus the part number and part description.

At this rate it will be cheaper to buy and own newer Porsches.

On second thought, maybe that's their plan...

So what is the trajectory for the pricing on the 'used' versions?

I hope this increases the aftermarket support for 928's... or the opportunity.

A company that shows no loyalty to their current owners isn’t doing anything to make me want to buy a new one.

Similar to the transmission mounts that doubled over night--and in fact, tripled in 2 years.

At that rate, I could get my metal guy to make a custom aluminum one, and still have hundreds left... crazy. I'm glad I bought my 928 now before this tactic wipes them off the streets...

Exactly, it's becoming cheaper to fabricate our own parts for these cars.

Gift in German translates to poison in English.
