S4 Projector headlight?
Has anyone looked into upgrading the stock headlights to a projector unit? I think I would want to do that before I picked an HID bulb. I already have a xenon bulb set hooked up to my driving lights so i can drive at night with main headlights off- however just about everyone I pass flashes me so i am thinking a projector beam would limit me blinding the oncoming drivers. Any suggestions? There are a few companies on the net that sell projector sealed beam 7" lights with H4 bulbs- and they are fairly cheap.

The bumper-mounted lights are too low to use as "driving lights" instead of your low-beam headlights. By the time you aim them up enough to see down the road much, they are in the eyes of oncoming cars whenever your car moves on the suspension or the road undulates. They are truly fog lights, intended to light the road immediately in front of the car when visibility is limited in bad weather. Cali requires them to be aimed no more than 75' in front of the car, top of beam. That's a little more than three car-lengths, hardly suitable for driving more than slow speeds.
Now, to the question. I've been following Carl's HID thread, and think that a projector setup would be a bit nicer and lower $$ than buying a set of 8" H4's and adding HID's to them. I do want to keep the stock flip-up lights, so we just need to figure out how to make a round polycarbonate cover to replicate the stock 8" lens, and fit a set of HID projectors inside the bucket a,d behind that new lens. Sounds so simple...

The cheapest 7" real projector headlight that I could find is $400+ shipping. There are many "projector type" 7" headlights but they are not an actual projector housing with an internal metal cut-off piece as part of the lens.
