Isn't Chump Car a bit more expensive? A $500 car is a sorry POS and any P-car can't be fixed in that price range.

I had planned to be in a Chump Car team with a 944 but couldn't make the commitment. I know guys on 4 teams and they have an absolute blast with it.

I saw this. It's been listed under 3 or 4 different locations in LA... legit? I think it might be tough to sell enough stuff on it to get it down to $500.

If you can talk him down to 2k, i think you could sell out the whole interior (seats included and hard to find OB trim pieces) + AC system (summer time would be perfect to get them out) and get it down to possibly around 400 or so pending on condition (or i could just be a horrible judge of the market conditions :P). fixups for the CIS system is a different story....

Not true: Both are $500 limits -- they just do it slightly differently.

My 924S was bought for $450. PO had pulled the clutch but had no idea how
to finish the job.

Bought it as is, new clutch sitting in floor boards with $560 price tag!

put the clutch in and it started right up.

We ran one Lemons events and switched to Chumps. We've done about 6 Chump races now.

Two more in the fall.

That's about as sweet of a car as you can get for one of these races. Two questions: 1) How do you guys place, what are your lap times, etc.? 2) Why'd you switch to chump from lemons?

if you r looking for a 4 cyl engine this might be a candidate: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv...110740050.html

though it looks like a possible 951 w/ the front/rear end, being an 84 says something else.

Yeah, that's not adding-up, unless there was a 84 Euro 951.
