The wear area is right where the pass side TB cover is. While on bad MM's, ate thru it.

The entirety of the low side line...now in a DIY kit.

Wow... so the engine itself was actually contacting the hard pipe in that area?

Here's a picture of that location on my car with good motor mounts taken today. It's close. Mine appears to have no wear there, although, as a matter of fact, we couldn't see the wear on Jeff's either from this angle. It appears that if the motor were lower, it would be even closer.

So how do you check it? Should this be part of the TB/WP change as the covers are off at that time?

Not a bad idea to have a peek in there if you have dead MM's.

Should be all fixed up Monday evening, if I can find a vac pump and manifold to use in Santa Cruz.

Jeff: You have skilz!

Now after you finish welding it, are you going to have to cut it up to get it back in?

Makes good sense. However, this is the first time I can recall ever seeing anyone report this. The problem is almost always failure of the high pressure line at it's hose section.

No. Will run over the top, pass side. Will add a T to it later, to run t the rear AC. But just ok with front for the trip to Seattle next week.

-10 line.

T be honest, I bet you could run this line in fire jacket...zip tied to the high line under there, just fine. Don't see any reason that line had to come UP so far from the compressor in the first place at all.

Bill:

Uhh..im not having any luck, so far, finding a vac pump and manifold in Santa Cruz...buy ya pizza at the shop monday evening for an R134 charge?

Should NOT need your seals or the R134 I left there..but if you can make it, bring it?

I can ask alan to come in as early as maybe 3pm Monday. Hes usually a 6-3am kinda guy.

PS: The anodizing on the alum lines is -hard-. Way overkill, good stuff. took some otherwise very aggressive grinding to get thru it, to prep for welding.
