1996 GTS for sale... Berlin Germany
So, I am going over to Berlin in Sept and thought it would be fun to see if any 928s were for sale... Not really going to buy another, but boy would it be fun
I ran across this little gem... cheap too...

I assume he typo'd the 96, but what could be wrong with this puppy for so little on a GTS....

The email address in the ad generates many hits with scam warnings. If you send a mail, supposedly you'd get an answer that the car is currently in the UK, but can be transported quickly. Just wire your money to...

Traditionally, German car ads list the year of the first registration, not the model year of the car. A 96 GTS would be first registered in 96 - it could have been in a dealer's showroom for a few months.

December 31st 1996 was last date to register GTS in many European countries. On January 1st 1997 some new tighter requlations came into use and none of the 928 made could meet them. Thus Porsche urged dealers to register all remaining unsold new cars by end of '96. Practically every last one of the GTS should have been registered before '97. Some cars might have lost their actual registration date from papers when they were moved from country to country and thus seem like first registration was done in later date but they all probably had been in some registry before end of '96.
