Tow Dollies and 5 speed 928s
I am towing a 1987 manual 928 from Huntsville to Atlanta and want to use a tow dolly. I did search this forum and the general concensus that you can use a tow dolly (Wally and others) although if you have access to a flat bed trailer that would be the preferred method. The buyer of one my 928s that was a manual transported it to Charlotte, NC. I am not aware that the new owner had any issues.
Do I have that right?

Make sure to have a way to ensure it stays in neutral. Son towed a S-10 manual with it in neutral and somewhere along the way it popped into gear. End of story, arrived at destination with transmission thrashed
When I moved from NC to TX I bought a flatbed used then after arriving sold for about $100 less than I paid for it!

Tow from the rear and lock down the steering wheel with rope the way the tow truck drivers do. Never had a problem with that set up. You need a 3/4 ton these days. Gone at the days of a car trailer and a Datsun PU.

Just had my newest 80 towed with a 2 1/2 T Sterling with a Wheel lift. No problems at at Picked up rear tires, tied steering wheel, Longmont to denver at 65-75 mph. No problem at all.

it should be dirty! it was in the flood that destroyed many homes and cars! i picked it up free from a fellow rennlister. The best part about a flood victum is that you just open everything and go to town with pressure washer!
By the way She runs, drives and stops.
Good ? i wondered the same thing!

Because some idiot parked next to you cannot judge his car car and nicks it with the front of his car when he is backing out. This happened to my GT at the last GTG in maryland.
