Hilton, do you have an actual pic of that setup? Curious...

Are there fuel hoses under the intake or vacuum hoses?
After I get my no start/idle problem solved, I want to do a intake manifold refresh and get rid of the unsightly red paint on my intake while I got it off.

I am looking into porting and polishing the intake for some extra hp. Does anyone make a larger throttle body for the 87 S4? I saw somewhere here that the euro throttle body is larger. Would this work and if so, how well in terms of HP gains?

The only photo I've got that shows the later part clearly is this one - from after the FPR was unbolted from where its mounted, during disassembly for my 89's intake refresh.

When the FPR is bolted in plate, the hard line loops back directly under itself and out to the rear of the throttle wheel. Then the soft section of it heads across by the firewall to the fuel cooler.

Just found another pic - this is from a friend's 928SE (RHD clubsport, MY88), taken so I could figure out a mystery vacuum line putting my 89 back together.

You can see the hardline come out the back of the FPR, loop under itself, and then see the soft line at the left side of the picture.

Yes - he still needs to replace his fuel lines!

There are no fuel hoses under the intake other than the five you can get at without removing the intake (four on MY88-onwards).

Under the intake are breather hoses, and hoses for the idle valve, as well as more vacuum lines.

As far as hp improvements - don't bother with a throttle body, the stock one is plenty big enough for somewhere north of 400hp.

There are minor gains to be had port-matching the intake to the gasket/ports (the factory did this for the clubsports and GT's), and also re-shaping the bell mouths on the trumpets to give better air flow. However, you'll get much better gains just fixing your knock and hall sensors (one of the three is bound to be broken, costing circa 20hp at the wheels) and adding an X-pipe and the Blackbird-style EIS air intake.

Now when both 928 110 271 02 and 928 110 367 15 seem to be gone for good what options exist for replacing old factory parts?
