You may want to see a doctor about that thing. I think they make a pill to fix that.

Kidding aside, what does it connect, and where can I get one, price determining?

Thats the fuel line from the return side of the fuel pressure regulator on an 87 S4 (88 onwards have a hard line). Not NLA (unless they've become so in the last 12 months?)

Looks like the original was pretty crispy

So cool. It has a production date from Porsche of 4/12/2012 and an expiration date of 5/2015
Apparently they are still in production. Cost me $62.00 tax and all

Greg Brown makes a solution for that problem, and I strongly recommend it.
I replaced the fuel hoses on my 87 about 5 years ago and when I saw what Greg had done I replaced them again.
Roger sells them I think, it is good bit of kit as he may want to say at times.

Part number used to be 928 110 359 04 and 6 months ago we sold them for $7.75.
Part number superceded this month to 928 110 359 09 and they are back in stock but as always the price was hicked to $55.69 - I have 24 in stock.
Only used on early 87 cars.

The Greg Brown version is an awesome life time quaranteed hose for $179.

Roger, your a knuckle head. You just got these in stock and you didn't tell me? You know how hard I was looking for this after you sold me that straight hose to replace it (which never really was a good fit to begin with, extra length or not it kinks due to the sharp bend). You told me this hose was no longer available. I would have bought it from you. I also could have saved myself hours of looking for one. Ok, now send me a free set of GTS mirrors to make it up to me, lol.

Side note: I called and left two messages for Greg Brown initially to order his "lifetime guaranteed" setup and he never returned the phone call. Not sure if he never got the message or was just too busy...

just thinking out loud, why cant that hose be converted to hardline?

all those twists and bends on any rubber hose makes me nervous...

Unless your engine is welded to the crossmember, you wouldn't want your fuel line not to be able to 'give' as the engine rocks on its mounts.

That particular hose can be a hardline - the factory made it a hardline on 88-95 models. Its only the 1987 S4 that uses the nasty rubber one - from the Fuel Pressure Regulator to the plate that also holds the throttle wheel.

On the later cars, as with the 87 S4, the section from the pressure regulator to the fuel cooler still retains a flexible part, and is what allows the engine to move independently of the chassis without stressing the fuel lines.

If you want to convert from the weird S-shaped one, you'll need:

Fuel Pressure Regulator - 928 110 198 04
The hardline return fitting - 928 110 359 08 (this screws straight onto the fuel cooler from the pressure regulator)
Throttle wheel bracket - 928 110 640 02

You may also need the return line from the fuel cooler (928 356 185 03) - its specified as different from 88-onwards versus 87, but I can't see anything in the photos of my intake refreshes on my 87 and 89 which would cause an issue.
