Make sure you check your mounting of the R/D before you install the condenser. You will find the condensers R/D mounting tab slot too small for the studs and needs to be elongated to allow line hook up.

Getting close. Appointment to get recharged tomorrow. Had a small hiccup..seems I grabbed the wrong hose to rebuild and had to find the other one and get it done today. It's all in there now except for the drier (waiting for the shop to do that ), and I still need to solder the relay on the controller board.. Keeping fingers crossed it all works. I'll have two or three days to test it here.... we're getting up to a balmy hot 75 this week LOL...

Congrats on the progress, Tom.

Just replaced all O-rings, expansion valve, and evaporator in the Rear AC which had been disconnected. After replacing a mis-sized O-ring in the front/rear connection with the original, I took it to the AC shop and am recharged and blowing cold air from both ends (the car, not me). Shop said it measured 60 deg at the center vent; it seems like it should be colder.

R12; 75 degress OAT; 35/40 on the suction side, little less than 200 on the pressure side.

Have to research what to do next.

Just got back from the A/C place...Fully charged.. Put it on the vacuum machine for 30 minutes...let sit for 5... put in the mineral oil and then the charge of R12 (about 2.2 pounds). Checked the operation of the system, it was cooling really well, so he got ready to disconnect the lines..and the high side started spitting coolant..... bad schraeder valve..so...pull all the R12 out of it... put in a new schraeder valve in both high and low side ...vacuum down again for 15 minutes.....recharge..and on my way.

Ran it for 30 minutes on the way home, outside temp was 80ish..inside was freezing. No heat was coming out of the vents. So cold had to pull my hand away. I'll continue to run it over the next few days just because I want to make sure it holds charge and continues to work. Keeping fingers crossed it will keep us cool on the trip across the midwest..

Nice. The 928 becomes an entirely different car with functioning A/C.
