Default Differential Bolts 928 332 276 03 question...

Helping out a friend with his 86.5 928

Quick question...

The differential uses 12 bolts, Porche Part number: 928.332.276.03 aka 928 332 276 03

Are there equivalents that can be used? If so, what would be recommended?

Also is there a tightening pattern? Just do stagger? I have the WSM (print and digital) and the Torque measurements but would like to grab the bolts locally if possible.

Did a bunch of searches but came up with nothing.

Thanks!

Michael

Last dozen I bought was from Greg, $6.65 a piece. Think I still have the 20 year old ones with 100K miles on them. Feeling lucky?

Also get a 6-pack of the tab washers, 928 332 285 00. Re-using those isn't a good idea either.

EDIT: Wow, Roger, they must have jumped in price recently (?) Mine were from 12/09.

New tab washers from Porsche can have surface rust in them. Not that it matters much but its little anoying to pay for new parts and get rust as extra gift from Stuttgart.

Important! You need a 20 mm socket for the bolts (most likely special order). The heads are really flat and I had to grind the top of the sockets off for a good solid grip. (Changed my GTS to a US S4 diff gear ratio)
