You will have to back in and re-check the tension, but the real question is how/what procedure did you use to adjust the belt?
Once you confirm that mechanically it's all good to go, then start looking at the electrical.
Don't guess, that will get expensive

Or the connection at the belt cover. The piece that attaches directly to the tensioner arm, is it braided or strap? I guess if it is intact it's OK either way, but the strap is notorious for breaking and was replaced w/braided.

Conti belts will NOT show a warning light if tensioned correctly. There is not that much "stretch" in the belt. You have something that needs to be corrected, don't write it off to "belt stretch"!

Ditto, been running a pair of conti belts on warning light cars. No issues.
Belt might be loose.
Or, also likely, 2mm thick washer / spacer where tensioner meets tensioner arm was left off.
