Difference between S4 and GT Rear Fenders?
PET shows different part numbers for the rear quarter outer sheet metal (PET designation is "Side Section"). What is(are) the difference(s) between S4 and GT rear fenders?
I would guess that they are not the same and are not really interchangeable, but I have to ask......
Thanks,
Bob

Only thing I can imagine is that the GT fender lips are rolled.

I agree with Rob. BUT - don't forget the 928 Owners Club fender rolling tool loaner program (do a search) if you want to roll S4 rear fender lips.
Also - see: www.928OC.org for info.

The overall shape of the GTS rear quarter panels, in the area of the rear wheels is significantly different from all the previous cars in other respects than just the rolled edge. The fender area of this panel is more bulbous than the others and is about one inch or slightly more wider on each side than the early cars before the GTS. Also the shape of the wheel opening is very different. It is about 1 3/8 inch taller and the foreward and aft "corners" are much more rounded. The wheel opening overall is more round in appearance.
Ask me how I know all of this.

OOPS, I glossed over the fact that he asked about GT and not GTS. I was wondering why no one else identified the major differences I so carefully described.
