And how old was the Mazda when you got it 6 years ago ? Porsche made a GREAT car but they did it with average rubber, average wiring insulation, some odd design features, and used a bunch of unique and very expensive parts in the process.. The only affordable inexpensive part of owning an early 928 is the often very low purchase price. But you obviously are infatuated with your new love even though you wanted a 5 speed and hate red cars ! And despite Jeromy Clarkson's quote your new ride will be hard pressed to do 130 MPH.
Your car uses many of the same parts as the last few $125,000 GTS cars and parts are priced accordingly. That is the primary reason why the resale values are so low as the repair cost can be staggeringly high. Good rule of thumb is NEVER buy a car older than you are

Yep... I agree. You got a good deal... and yes this is only the beginning Next, find out if there is a 928 club anywhere near you. If there is then they are your greatest asset and can help you learn & work on your car - most club guys wont even think twice about helping out another Shark owner. DONT PAY A MECHANIC if you are mechanically inclined, with a little help on here, and some local guys you can do this... Face it, most of us are car jocks and LOVE working on our Sharks - even other people's Sharks - and the 928 community is the BEST... Bar None!! Get your gas lines replaced first thing - 928sRus (Roger) has a kit and can help you with directions, etc... Make sure your major systems are good, brakes, fluids changed, etc, and DRIVE THE CRAP OUT OF HER!!! Enjoy & welcome to the shark tank!

928's was and still is a daily driver which is why a vast majority of them have over 100,000 miles clocked in. That V8 was built strong to last long. Once you have the car sorted, she will serve you well for another 30 years.

Just make sure you have backup transportation for when she is out of commission for repairs. Like any old classic car, it takes a lot of time and a lot more money to make things right.
