I work pretty close to where the car is. If anyone is interested, I could go take a look and get some better pictures.

Chances are that the egnine is an LT1 out of a Firebird or Camaro and not an Corvette. Essentially the same engine but much easier to find.

Isn't this the same one that was posted a while back that only made ~350wrhp or something with a turbocharged LT1?

They also came in various Buicks, one Caddy and the Caprice.

The non-Vette / Camaro engines have iron heads instead of aluminum and only two bolt mains (versus four)

Stock LT1's made 300bhp in the Vette and 275 in the Camaro......so maybe around 260ish at the rear wheels. A gain of 90+hp is nothing to sneeze at.

Watch out for the babt Lt1's from caprice's, they are 4.3 V8's. I put one in a Camaro...damn good MPG's tho.

Yes and no. They all had four bolt mains and two bolt end caps. All of the LT1-4 architecture was the same.

No....

http://www.golenengineservice.com/di...-demand-part-1

"To add strength to the bottom end Golen converts all LT1s from a two bolt to a four bolt main motor."

Son of a B! Sorry Erik! I was always under the impression that all LT1 engines were four bolt, not just the corvette. I thought that was one of the things that kind of separated them from the regular SBC which they still are basically.

One more reason the LS series is just THAT much better.
