Default Sharks in Hunsruck With Pictures

Had the pleasure of joining the German PFF Shark GTG at Hunsruck this weekend and thought I’d post some pictures. A great event with great cars and even greater people. I still can’t wipe the smile off my face. In total, 28 928s—some very rare. The organizer, Heiko, did an incredible job which included a castle tour and dinner, a rally the following day with box lunches, the best driving course I’ve ever driven through the most beautiful German scenery. And today, he organized a trip to Nürburgring. Unfortunately, we had to miss the “ring”, but wow…

The first picture is as we pulled into the parking lot
The second picture is the rally tags Heiko made for our rear windows
The third picture is a CF wing which went great with the color of car!
The fourth picture was at our first rally stop; what a view
The fifth picture is Gregor’s and Dany’s beautiful GTS who let us follow them yesterday on the rally drive

The first picture is another one of Gregor’s and Danny’s GTS through the mountain twisties
The second picture was during the rally with someone at “speed”. Now the funny part is, I’m holding on with both hands praying I don’t wipe out. Note that for this driver, hand is out the window and just another day driving through the mountains.
The third picture is just more of beautiful Germany during a rally rest stop
The fourth picture… hubba, hubba
The fifth picture is a flawless chocolate brown that was bought from Seattle on e-bay and shipped to Germany

The first picture is Gregor’s and Dany’s GTS; what a beautiful color…
The second picture is the next to last RoW 928 ever produced!
The third picture is the VIN to prove it…
The forth picture is a 928 and the lights are as it was originally produced from the exclusive program. Very, very rare. Analogous to the slant-nose 911 (as it was explained to me…)
The fifth picture is a 95 GTS that is a mirror of the one in the museum. The owner bought it from a Porsche engineer after he had it only 3 months. The current owner has had it since 95 and it only has ~15,000 miles. EVERYTHING is stock, the radio, the floor mats, everything. What a car, what an owner—great guy.

The first picture is the final line-up
The second picture is my car with the castle in the background. Note the side lights…
And the third picture was someone’s gas cap cover. Sums up where our money goes pretty well.

What a weekend. Very interesting how “international” the 928 group is. Many commented on Mark Anderson’s u-tube videos and how he spanks the 911s. Some mentioned Nicole and how she grew up just a few kilometers from their house, they all knew of Roger, etc. Man, what a great bunch of people. Still smiling.

Bruce, That countryside looks magnificent. Glad to hear you are enjoying your stay there. Wife & I plan on getting over there in the next 2-3 years. Is that the exceptional brown 79 that sold on ebay about 5 months ago ? Are you & yours heading back to TX anytime in the future ? T

Glad to see you enjoy the German 928 owners and their events! Some of the cars on your pictures look quite familiar to me.

No Vector, any more pictures of the "slant-nose" 928? That is very interesting.

Tony - That could be the car; he said it took 2nd place in a concourse event in California--I'm surprised it didn't take 1st. Anyway,
with the exchange rate, looks like a lot of cars are coming back to the father-land.

Nicole - We were talking about the Sun Shields I had in the car and I mentioned I bought them from "Nicole at Hooked on Cars". And
they were like "Do you mean our Nicole?" It was neat--like parents who miss their kids...

James - Nope, don't know when I'll make it back. In fact, I may just go native

A few more of the non-frog eye 928. The owner said it's not the original color. Don't quote me, but I think he said
they made 60 and 20 of them are in Germany. He mentioned how he loved the 924 and felt this car is the best of
both worlds. No doubt, less wind drag.

I miss them, too!

I assume it was Michael, or Rainer - those two live closest to my old habitat. But then again, there are many others who live in this vicinity and have met me at one of the official events, or at the local beer garden.

How far are you from Stuttgart? I'm trying to arrange a 928 dinner on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday while I'm there. (Sorry, I can't do weekends)
