"The car is not perfect, if you want perfect, put a 1 in front of this price and go buy a car that's been restored, don't waste my time."
So if I offer to buy the car for $14k he will restore it?

Seriously doubt it needs a coil. Price is too high. And the seller is hostile. Don't see this going anywhere at all. Imagine buying this this (which does not run or runs poorly, I assume) and then going back to the seller after you find out that replacing the coil did not help at all. Probably get a friendly and helpful response.

Most ppl in Ontario think just because it has the Porsche name on it it must be made out of gold and price it accordingly. I went to look at an 82 here in London last year the guy wanted $9800 for it, was an automatic, it had a silver macco paint job (could still see some tape) with stick on black rubber side trim that was put on before the paint and the interior was rough. I pulled in with my red 79 5spd talked to the guy for about 5 mins he was so hurt that he was taking such a big loss on the car and what a deal it was. I said wow mine must be worth atleast 25 g then. He said no no its worth way more than that. At that point I was just shaking my head (I only paid 3 for it) figured the guy was on crack or something. I laughed all the way home felt bad for the car though.

Personally, I would not go back, because I would not have believed him in the first place. I would have guessed that it needs a fuel pump or a WUR or a AFM or something anyway. But what about the buyer who believes him?

Plus it has the light weight package where they removed the vanes from the driver air vent and half of them from the center vent, the ring around the ignition switch, and the **** for mirror adjustment, the change pocket, Etc, etc. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Pretty sure it was for sale last year, can't be that many black 82 5spds with 75k arround here. He was asking 8, I spoke to him and right of the bat before I even went to look at it he said he would take nothing less. I suspect next year it will be 3k. Same goes for many cars in Ontario. The gold 84 in St Catherine's at 7k is back for sale, I bet he wishes he took my offer of 6k last year, but I'm glad he did not as that one has not been plated since 2003.
Everyone thinks the have gold when actually they have fools gold.
