Default maf rebuild

Hi everyone, how do I get my maf rebuild for my 928? What's the best way to do it?

See Rich Andrade at ElectronikRepair in Arizona - he's a 928 guy on here.

He does the brains, not sure about MAFs.

Roger at 928sRus.com.

He'll send you a new recal'd one, and yours goes to the UK for refit for the next guy.

MAF rebuild $295 plus $200 core charge.
Or send us yours for rebuild and we will return it - no core charge.

If your car is running fine and you are just refreshing the intakes, then there is no need to do it. Do it when you are having issues. It is not exactly a WYIT job. It is easy to remove and send off at anytime.

Every so many starts the MAF does a burn off cycle to clean the hot wire, after so many the wire is out of spec and doesn't meter accurately enough for the brains to compensate. Shorter trips frequent restarts maybe its a 50k mile replacement item. Most cars have never had them replaced so I would do it as a matter of course on a car new to me. Several of the places mentioned will test and tell you if yours is still good, but I understand that is very rarely the case.

I got to to the point where I completely gave up on rebuilt MAFs and was selling only brand new ones....so few of the "rebuilds" I was able to get actually properly worked.

Then I found John Speake.

He's a genius.

So even tho it's been rebuild , it's likely that it doesn't work anyways? Is there something new about the mafs that I missed on ? Does John S sells new ones or better ones than stock?
