Default 84s Fuel line damp above the Injector

I noticed this morning one of my injector lines was damp for about an inch above the injector. I bought the fuel line kit from Roger so I'm thinking this weekend might be the time to replace all the lines.

Is there anything else ( like seals ) that I should replace while I'm at it?

Thanks
-Dan

I have an 83 US 5-speed and I am about to do the same thing, although I do not yet have a leak. I also bought my kit from Roger.

The advice I have received is to remove the entire fuel rail, versus attempting to remove one injector at a time. Of course, you should carefully pull the fuel relay with the engine running and the let the engine die before working on the fuel lines. Then disconnect the battery and be extremely mindful that there will gas leaking during the entire process. Work outside if possible. And, if there is any doubt, have a pro do it.

Witht that said, there are three other engine compartment fuel lines on the 83 and, I presume, on the 84. Two are on the passenger side near the coolant reservoir and the other is under the air filter assembly, which has to be removed for access. I take it that those should be replaced as well and Roger's kit has instructions for that job, at least mine did.

All of the necessary seals are included with Roger's kit. If you were having any kind of injector issues, now would be the time to send them off for reconditioning. Others here can recommend vendors for that service.

I may be telling you things you already know and I am not an expert in that I have yet to do the job myself. Nonetheless, that I what (all) I know about the job.

Without trying to steal the thread, I am curious how to remove the old fuel injector hoses. I have heard you should attack the job with a small soldering iron and burn the old hose off (so that the barbs are not affected like they might be with a cutting tool.) It seems to me that you would have to pretty careful when burning off a gas-related hose.

Also, what is the easiest way to disconnect the fule injector electrical connection without damaging the plastic connectors? This falls under my guiding principle of first do no harm.

Taking everything off was pretty easy, with the exception of the line that runs along the passenger side. I ended up having to cut the crimp and pry it off. Not so easy.
