Default Motor rebuild question on my 86

I started my rebuild from a mistake I made with my timming belt. I'm sure you guys know the old story of bent valves. Well one thing leads to another and I am putting rings and rod bearings in it among other things and I need to know what the piston ring gap is and do I gap do the top two rings or just the top one.
I would really appreciate any help I can get here , thank you.

Regards
Matt

After looking a hand full of time in the WSM I found the gap.

I did a seach on piston coatings and the only thing I found was a couple of year old. I was wondering if there was any updates on this subject.

Has anyone had any luck with any piston coatings ?

I need to have mine done and I'm not sure what way to go.
This is what I was thinking?

I would appreciate any help with any experience that could be shared.

Thank you
