Default Short trackday at Thunderhill today.....

Well it was a SHORT trackday for rennlisters......

Since my powersteering pump blew last trackday & I fixed that....so the pressure line blew after 4 laps.....

Tried re-flaring the line, but no dice.....oh well......

I did manage to test Harry's lap timer with video overlay.....pretty cool....here is my best lap...the 3rd lap of the day..... Did have fun chasing a 997 GT2....a couple more laps worth of heat in the tires and I would have passed him..... Oh well....next time....

Take a look

If I remember correctly 2:08 is a good time at T-hill for 215hp.

Yes it is.....my personal best in the Estate with 215whp automatic is 2:06.52...Casper has 243whp plus a bunch of gears I can't figure out how to use....

I ran a 2:07.1 two weeks ago in Casper using only 4th gear...and 5 year old hoosiers cycled to death (corded the next day)

I think Casper can run 2:04 or better depending on Aero....the "list" of things to do is LONG.....

Well, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did watching it. Good run. I love the way you display the video. Your curves aren't bad either

Brian
Sorry to hear about the leaky hose.
I like the video set up too bad you can't get over 100 on the track!
JK over 100 on the three main straights is pretty good.I feel a sub 2:05 coming on in the near future.

I'd say 2:04 easy.....more with proper aero..... 2:07 with old tires, in only 4th and suspension not set the way I like.....

118.5 on the main straight....3rd lap of 1st session....I'd say my prediction of 122mph is accurate once heat is in the tires and the LSD doesn't slip....

I would recommend a wilwood clutch pedal conversion,
or to install one of Ken's clutch stops!
Additionally remove the intermediate plate and weld it into position so that you dont have to worry about the clutch coming out of adjustment on the track.

Looks like fun though!

Brian
We have to take a look at the clutch/ transmission in your car. That was painful to watch. Still kept the
$ 200k GT1 in sight though. Lets get the tranny/clutch issue fixed and save about $ 194,000 and have faster lap times.

Right now "we" have 3 old transmissions......my current G28-03 with LSD, the old G28-03 with open diff that came from my 1st lemons car & your open diff, but yours is the later short TT version.....

I think there is a hydraulic clutch issue....probably a bubble....bleeding it should help.....I also installed the stock shifter....it felt WAY better....oddly it feels more precise with much less effort.....however the video was with the short shifter...

Right now its "in line" waiting for new power steering lines......I am shooting for May 4th.....

Hopefully a clutch bleed will make shifting easier. Jack up the car and put it in neutral to see if the wheels spin. If they spin with the tranny in neutral you have a clutch drag problem. Also try putting it in gear with the wheels off the ground if the wheels start spinning before you engage the clutch you have a clutch drag problem or is you prefer a disengagement problem.

Also you need to pull that LSD and have it re built. A working clutch and LSD has to be worth at least a couple of second a lap.

I agree................I think there is a bubble floating around in there.....when we had the car on stands with no wheels the rears spun slowly when cold....but after engaging the clutch a couple times the wheels didn't move like usual....

I'd say a proper LSD and shifting is WAY more per lap.....probably 3 seconds...or more...

This is the same GT2 I chased in the Widow years ago...

Try taping some gauze filters over your micro phones to reduce all that wind noise. most anything will help.
