Hagerty insurance
Hagerty insurance sucks, aftermarket parts, This is the worst experience I've ever had.
The adjusters never return calls, or their supervisors. Got the estimate it says, " This estimate is based on the use of body parts for your vehicle which were not manufactured for or by the original manufacturer of the motor vehicle.
These bastards are saying I have to accept this. Thats not the way Hagerty advertises their insurance. This is BS!

Check your local/state laws; even our ***-backwards state of Louisiana has laws that give the owner choice over OEM or aftermarket and where the car can be fixed.
Hagerty is awful, I agree. Trying to deal with them was like dealing with Dell customer service (in case you have not tried that on for size.) State Farm has issued several of us low use/recreational policies, mine is under $35 a month and is a real policy, not Michael Hagerty's personal retirement plan.

That's an interesting statement. Doesn't Hagerty claim that they will only use original parts for repairs? I recall even seeing TV ads where they claimed that. Also, what Barry said - they will have hard time finding non Porsche body panels anyhow... Sorry it got to be such a pain...

Btw, not trying to defend Hagerty in any way, but... just by searching this forum, Hagerty looks to have the best reviews of all... I'm not sire about State Farm (it's mad expensive here in NYC for some reason), but neither Geico, not Allstate would issue classic car insurance and refer customers to either Hagerty or American Classic Car (or whatever the correct name is).

Also, as most insurance companies do... make a lowball offer and make you think that is as good as it gets.
Refuse any offers until they meet your expectations of quality & timeliness (sp?) of repairs.
With the 928 frame jig being in Cali -perhaps you could insist the work be done there... no exceptions.

I've got it in writing, that the estimate was figured using aftermarket parts. Form letter or not, Hagerty is on the hook to defend their statement.
BTW, We found out after the accident that the other drivers insurance was valid. This accident isn't costing Hagerty anything. Plus they told me that they would collect from the other company.
Another Rennlister mentioned that maybe the same underwriter. may have an interest in both companies. Who knows?

Why are we assuming body parts and body panals means the same thing? I'm thinking body parts can mean things like rubber moldings, fasteners, weather stripping etc..

I've decided to have the car transported to Downey, Ca., where the 928 specific frame jig is located. This way I'll know that the repairs are performed correctly. I get to pick any shop I want to do the repairs.
My SIL, is a lawyer, he sent a letter via email, requesting verification in writing, that Hagerty will continue to insure the car for the same, or greater agreed value. After repairs are completed. Followed up with the same request via certified mail, return reciept requested.
The adjuster told the body shop that they had 16K to work with, I'm gonna make sure Hagerty get's their monies worth.
