Default The tires on my d90's

I had a bad alignment that has cashed out my rear tires. Not that big of a deal, I am sure that they wouldn't have made it through the year anyway.
I have d90's and started searching for tires, but I noticed something odd.
The tires I have mounted (came with the car) are Yokohama's, the rears are 225/50/16's and the fronts are 205's.
From searching RL, it seems that the typical sizes are front 225/50's and rear 245/45.
Why would the PO have these on these wheels? Also, since I was just going to throw on new rears for now, any problem with sticking with these sizes for one cycle?
Thanks as always,

Check the sizes of the wheels. If the PO used the 911 wheels then the wider tires will not fit.

Thanks, Bilal.

Does anyone know the 911 size?

Any known problem running the 911 size, other than having to run skinnier tires?

Basic 964 fronts are 6" ET52.3 and rears are 8" ET52.3. There should be cast numbers next to valve opening.

Thanks Erkka.

I can check later, but I'm guessing I will find that thay are the 964 wheels.

Any problem with keeping these on?

Only problem is too narrow front end. 225 rubber in 6" do not work properly. 928 needs at least 225 at front if car is used anywhere near its upper capability.

D90's from 928 GT's were 7.5" front and 9" rear and I use those for my track tires and run 245 front and 265 rear...

Default question

I have D90 rims front 7x16, and rear 8x16, can I put these on my 88' carrera? Do I spacers? Adaptors?

Post this question on the 911 board, regarding fitment. You should get the part numbers off the wheels and look them up on PET, that will tell you the original fitment.
