Hi
With Rogers end tanks you now have the option of 2 positions for the thermostat...stock ( bottom right looking from the front), or top left....which would you choose???

At the outlet of the radiator. That tells if the coolant is cooled enough. That's why it's the stock location.
Some people put it near the inlet or, worse, in the hose from the engine. The thermostat makes sure the water coming out of the engine will be hot so that placement ensures the fans will come on. Measuring the temp at the outlet identifies if the forced air from highway speeds is sufficient, and it usually is. The fans only come on when the radiator needs help and not when the engine is at temp.
