Hi,
My 89 ROW S4 does not have a factory 3rd brake light. I just bought one for compliance with local regulations. Is the car pre-wired for it or I need to install my own wiring?
Thanks
Michel.

You'll need to install your own wiring ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
The factory connector where the hatch wiring joins the body (top left hinge) doesn't have the connections for the brake light on its pinout (on my '87 and '89).
However, IIRC, from following the wiring diagram, the third brake light is linked to the right-rear brake light's circuit - so I just ran voltage from the right rear's light up to the brake, and grounded it at the same point as the rear hatch interior light (using a factory third brakelight housing/bulb). The brake light failure warning still functions.
