I don't believe it could be a former German autobahn policecar: those are either green/white or non-marked and didn't have police striping like that. As this car apparantly hasn't been repainted, it also acn't be a later livery. Maybe this was some sort of showcar: that would explain the good condition.
I don't remember if the Germans patrolled with 928's: in the Netherlands we had a special squad equipped with 911's. Ex-police cars that survived have all been totally rebuild or are wrecks.

Had not seen this one before. I remembered I had another 928 patrol car in my photos collection.

Unrelated, and not European but figured I'd post it anyways...

This 911 wasn't green/white & it's a well documented car. Not unless perhaps it was just converted when new or isn't a German Police 911. I met the owner at the Rennsport Reunion II in 2004 at Daytona. I know he bought the car from an Arizona Porsche dealer with very little miles on it.

Even found an ebay link to a poor quality model of this one:

Here's a link to some other Porsche Police cars:

And I suppose this is the link in the other thread regarding the 928 police car:

Hi

Quick story for you all....

I was stationed in Germany in the Seventies...

I was driving an Opel Admiral one evening on a 100kph speed limit road and passed a green/white VW Beetle Police car parked up and I was doing around 90 mph....

Anyway I thought I might as well put my foot down as he is never going to catch me.... quick glance at map and saw it was around 12 miles to next turn off on this dead straight wide road....

So I planted my foot and took the admiral up to around 120 mph....

Kept an eye on my mirror and saw a tiny green speck in it....

Thought no problem, that speck will vanish in a few seconds....

Concentrated on road then check mirror again....maybe 2 minutes later....

No speck this time.....BUT...there was a German Police 911 about a foot off my bumper lol....

Anyway he nicked me and I got a huge fine.....

But it wasnt a 928...I wish it had been now....

I never saw a 928 Police car when I was there and I am pretty sure they didnt use them...

Oh the 911 was green/white with a blue light on a sort of stalk thing sticking up...

All the best Brett

Reminds me of an ad I saw in the back of a car magazine when I was a kid. I think it was a black and white Lamborghini with lights on top and a bunch of county mounties standing around it. The caption read something like "We could only buy one squad car for this town, so we figured we might as well make it a doozie". Wish I could find that again.

There were few 356 cop cars in Finland in early sixties. When 911 came along two of them were bought also. One is nowdays 964 RS replica. Another is closer to original. Main difference is color.
