As ever, I learn about the 928 on need-to-know basis: when something pops up I learn and fix! Or rather, I am taught from the wise words on this forum.

What's that Ben Stiller film- seems familiar?

Many, many years ago (maybe 1990) I had the slave cylinder quit in the middle of a snowstorm. Was able to get it home on the starter (to start engine in gear). It happened again a few years later (no snowstorm this time). I had to eventually replace the clutch itself about fifteen years ago. It would seem that the hydraulic clutch actuation is not a very robust design.
