Repair Group “Seat Covers", #74 Missing from the WSM?
Are your WSMs also missing repair group #74 "Seat Covers”? It's shown in the front index under "Body", but I can't find it in my hardback WSM and the soft copy from Jim Morehouse’s CD. Was it added in a later version or did it never make it to press? Putting on my awesome leather from Paul and would like to follow along in a manual to make sure I’m doing it right.

So you're replacing your seat covers? What color and style are the new ones? Are you doing both front and back? What are you planning to do with the originals, as I recall, weren't they still in pretty good condition?

Hi Tom - Same color (raspberry) but with blue piping (see picture). The old ones were just getting kind of crunchy and the driver's side bolster was turning to crap.

Yea, we just like to keep our cars looking nice! Afterall there were only 406 brought to the states by Porsche and far fewer than that on the road today...unlike S4's and S's and well, just about any other 928 which are a dime a dozen! (I am just messing with you LeRox! I LOVE my S4, but it sure isn't a GTS!)

I bought my books new in 2000. Although the very front contents listing shows a section 74 seat covers, just like the Morehouse scanned edition, the detailed contents for volume V, printed in 93 (same as Morehouse's), skips from 72 to 90.

James, 406 VINs in the range assigned to North America ... not just the United States. Since it's so difficult to import a Canadian vehicle into this country, there must certainly be less than 400 GTSs here. And some may have been re-exported to Japan or other countries when they weren't sold here (a method Porsche used to clear out unsold cars back in the early 90s when the exchange rate was crushing U.S. sales).
Take out the U.S. cars that have been trashed in various ways, or parted out, and we are down to some very small numbers my friend !!
