Accident Need Advice (update no write off)

A test drive should be no problem. Just keep your hand on the lever for a quick change to neutral or on the key for a quick one click to off. Don't lock your steering wheel!

Sorry to hear about your accident Adam. Damn, that sucks especially at the start of spring. Did you leave a skid mark? That would indicate that you'd hit the brakes as well.

Sorry to hear of your plight. If you cannot find a mechanical fault Do not plead guilty, NEVER.Have the court date changed to night time .Change it several times if possible.Chances the the cop will not show.On court date arrive 1/2 hour early. Find the cop and agree to plead to a lesser charge.Like following too close.Insurance will skyrocket otherwise with a careless charge.Points as well you do not want to lose.Fine will be less. Grew up in Burlington.Had 15 speeding tickets in one year.Fought them all only paid 3. Pleaded to under 15km no points on those 3. I was there so often they reserved a parking spot for me.Bailiff opened court with "All rise ,Good morning Wayne" in one breath.

Adam, so sorry to hear of the accident. Make sure you take care of yourself first. There is. Good Porsche mechanic in Stoney creek. The shop is called Zorotech. They are on Fruitland just off the highway. Seems to know his stuff and rates are reasonable. I hope everything works out well with the ticket. I am not sure what the best bodyshop would be around here. Good luck.

See Stuck Throttle (in the Mountain Twisties, no less!) for an interesting failure mode I had the pleasure of experiencing.

Adam:
So sorry to hear about this. Make sure you take care of yourself first, you can always get another car or get this one repaired. Plus the charge will be easy to get reduced or maybe even thrown out.
The throttle cables on 85-86 cars have a tendency to get frayed on the engine side, so a stuck throttle is possible. My 85 will push the front wheels too if I push the brake and throttle at the same time when I am rolling, the rear has more grip then the front.

You could be driving along, doing 28 in a 30, traversing an intersection and someone idiot forgets to hold their brake pedal down while they are at the stop light texting..
[Ask me how I know.]
Race tracks are safer than the public roads (especially roads with intersections). Proven fact.

You have medical coverage - absolutely no reason to put this off.
(I'm from Sault Ste. Marie and my parents still live there, so well aware of how the medical system works there).
