78/79 pins in the fuse panel for cold start injector
Normally I would pull out my WSM (digital or paper) and look this up. We just moved and I only have my "travel" laptop without any of my important files and I have no idea where my WSM's are.
I want to manually control the cold start injector on my 79, I need to know which pins in the fuse panel go to the injector so I can pull those pins and connect a momentary switch.
A few threads ago it was suggested by Mike Simard the cold start problem I'm having could be easily solved by simply firing the cold start injector at start-up to add fuel the WUR would normally be doing.
I tested this theory under the hood with an injector plug while Lorelei cranked the engine. Now that I know this will work, I want to wire up a switch without running wires through the firewall.
Yes this is a band-aid, I'm yanking CIS this summer so I need a quick / easy fix so I can drive my 79.

If I'm looking at the 78 year wiring diagrams right, the cold start valve gets power from CEL plug "O" pin 5 which gets power from the 50 Bus (only hot when the key is in the "START" position) through the trans neutral safety relay. CEL plug "O" pin 5 also feeds power to the starter solenoid so feeding power to that pin is out as your starter will run constantly. Looks like the 12V wire to the cold start valve branches away from the wire to the starter solenoid in the 14 pin plug. Also, the thermo switch must be closed to provide the ground path for the circuit. Would be pretty easy to remove the connector from the cold start valve and ground the appropriate pin on the valve, but it looks like you will have to run a switched power circuit from another source to a switch in the cockpit and back to the cold start valve to get your manually controlled power.
Hope this helps

Crap - I remember now, even on the L-Jet cars the cold start injector is only fired during cranking.
Oh well, plan B - run a lead to the jumper post and another into the cabin on the momentary switch wired to ground.
Thanks Mike!
