Default Instrument lighting

I'm going to pull my instrument pod and, hopefully, replace some burned out lights with the new bright lights that I've read about somewhere amongst these threads. Can't find it. Can anyone clue me in as to what they are and where to get them? Thanks guys.

You don't say what model year car you have.

For '89 or later and if you're wanting to convert from incandescent bulbs to LED bulbs, see my recommendations and references to a write-up at:

Some of that might be somewhat useful for earlier model years, too, but I don't know enough details to say for sure.

Thanks for your response, Ed. Mine is an 87 S4, purchased new in Germany many years ago. Does this make any difference?

Yeah... the instrument cluster is different pre-'89; a few other bulbs are different, too. Unfortunately, I don't know my way around those model years, so I can't be of much help other than to suggest that you search through some of the threads on this topic.

Perhaps somebody else can chime in with some links to other helpful threads.
