Just received a price for both rubber infills, £91 UK..., US dollars it comes to $144, which is expensive I think, probably investigate making some, or obtaining some suitable profile from a rubber extrusion manufacturer. Something from these people might work ?

I'm sure you can use a standard extrusion to get a result, although the corner might be a bit tricky. It might also be worth trying an aluminium window manufacturer. They have sections for pushing in between the glass and frame that are wedge shaped and very similar, with ribs on both wedge sides to stop them coming out, and are made to withstand UV and weathering.

Here's a pic before I redid the upper section, which had slid back under the top trim ... but it shows the side and corner. You can also see a separate small trim piece on the outside radius.

...,thanks Dave, the picture gives me a good idea of exactly what I,m looking for, might take a trip to the junk yard and have a look around , seems a lot of modern cars have a similar set up around the screen .

After looking around for some suitable material I came up with this. I,d almost given up untill I was sitting in my conservatory and happened to look up at the roof, and there they were. The plastic roof panels were sealed in by the almost exact rubber extrusion I was looking for, so I pulled a length out and tried it on the car. ( roof did,nt collapse )
I was amazed, it could have been made for it, it even had a full lenght groove that fitted perfectly into the outer edge of the down peices, ie, forms an exact "apex! with the outer frame, and literally snapped in position no glueing needed.
BTW..., I did replace what I removed from the conservatory roof with some suitable black dense foam, infact it,s a good substitute, much tighter. So it was a win-win situation all round.
I did however have some difficulty with the top curve on each side, and had to make do with what you see. overall though I,m quite happy.

Just in case it helps anyone, I had these fitted to my 79 when it had the glass out respray. Original parts from Porsche as above. They fit great and really make a difference to the noise above 120mph.

At least I think they do; at that speed my custom 3" exhaust is singing quite loudly.

Any chance you could trace back via the make
of the conservatory and find a source for the filler strip.
I've been searching the web but can't find a similar one.

Hi Brian, I got in touch with the company who fitted my conservatory, they said that with it being fifteen years old they no longer fit that type of roof, apparently they now fit a complete roof ie no seperate panels.

Before I removed the strips the company said to try any double glazing suppliers as they do a wide range of rubber glazing extrusions.
I have a small offcut left which I could post to you, in order to get an idea of what profile you need to find., you,ll also get an idea of what a good fit it is..., if that,s any help
