Default need an amp that's 18cm wide or less (SOLVED)

Well I got a good deal on an Alpine sub, and Alpine amp. Unfortunatly the amp won't fit. The sub fits perfectly in the tire well. I have 18.5 cm of clearance on the left for an amp.

I'm going to try the pioneer 7500, it's 20cm but may fit in there on an angle.

I got a cash desk, but I know the owner and he already new it might not fit.

I have searched but everything I find is 20-25 cm, nothing close to 18 cm That's 7" for you yanks.

Any ideas?

Do you want an amp just for driving the sub? I've got a Zapco Studio 100x subwoofer amp, 6" x 10" x 2.3" approx, L+R preamp in (adjustable gain), adjustable crossover, 100w into 4 ohms (200w into 8 ohms). Manual is here.

Send me a PM if you think this would suit your needs.

Cheers, Jim

Yes just for the sub. I will see what happens tomorrow, if the pioneer doesn't fit I will shoot you a PM.

Why are you trying to re-invent the wheel? There is a nice amp right inside this enclosure.

But it is quick sharp sub, very tight. Plus I can use it in my hatch if I decide to put the spare back in, and in my DD.

In that senario to amp will go inside the spare wheel.

And I saved some money.

Why don't you trim something off of the box that the speaker in mounted in?

I may do that, then I will be able to rotate it 90 degrees and put the amp in the front right side near were the harness for the gauges is.

Could you put the amp inside the sub enclosure? That would simplify moving it around.

I think the amp would heat up too much and also have a negative effect on the sound, plus the box has an internal port that runs around the inside, so probably not enough space.
