While I was getting ready to install my version of the pressure tester, I removed my MAS, plugged in a second temp II sensor I had, and started the car.
It started right up and had a steady idle. After I completed my intake refresh I installed and ran the car briefly with the MAS installed upside-down. So I sent my MAS out for a rebuild, and I am waiting to get it back. I feel my vacuum lines are solid, and I checked the connections on the ISV while I had it open. Here's hoping.

I'm not sure what a Temp II would do for a whistling sound but OK.

Glad it's running good for you. Good luck!

Air flow sensor housing not seated correctly? (previously)

Do you have the o-ring inside of the air guide and the one that goes around bottom of the sensor assembly where the two mate up?

I was just looking to get it running smoothly and holding a steady idle.
Whistling a sep issue.
I do have new o-rings inside and out

temp II hook up was to just get it running w/o MAS installed

FWIW- I'd still recommend doing the pressure tester.

I think you'll be surprised by two things:
1. You'll find leaks in places you weren't aware of and
2. Once you fix them your car will run very smoothly and reliably.
