Default 16V air pump delete -what to do with the fittings on the heads

I have the hood off to repalce expansion valve and flush system. I am also going to delete the air pump and seems while I have the hood off is a good time to pull the air pump plumbing running to the back of the heads.

Can I disconnect the rigid pipe at the heads and cap off or is it safer to leave the lines on the heads and cap off at the valve?

can i find threaded plumbing caps that fit or do I need to have them sealed another way?

There are caps and crush rings to cap off at the heads.

900 219 004 02 and 900 123 018 30

2 each needed

What is needed for blocking off the Euro S heads? I have the air pump system, but will delete it when the engine is torn apart. Same parts?

So looking at the above parts on the Auto Atlanata parts site they show as male screw in plugs. The rigid pipes on minr look to have female fittings. I will take some pictures tonight.

The ones I listed are the right ones. Trust me, I used them. The pipe you are referrering to does not have female fittings. It's a pipe thru a male fitting.

BigAl, same P/N's for you.

in my race 928's I dumped the air pump, removed all of it and just capped ALL of the fittings.....I even went as far as to cap all of the vac lines that would breath oil vapor back into the intake too..... then I just put a big K&N on the oil filler to allow crankcase pressure to vent to atmosphere.....works great so far and the K&N rarely gets moist...

The same plugs are used at the front of the heads.

CIS engines have the passage drilled into the exhaust ports to afterburn HC.

L-Jet engines use the same passage, but drilled into the intake ports for cold start bypass air.

Confirmed!! I relooked tonight and set up is exactly has you called out.

Anyone have a source for these? One of the big three perhaps? Autoatlanta has them but $13 shipping is more than the parts!!

Found the M16x 1.5 threaded plugs at my local O'Riellys auto parts store.

Pulled all the top side plumbing tonight and installed the plugs.

Thanks for the help!!

Hate to bring a thread back from the dead but I have a questions and would rather address here than a new thread.

I see that jwillman found plugs for these ports at his local parts store. Were these aluminum? I'm worried about corrosion and such because of using 2 different metals together. I'm deleting my air pump and need to make sure I'm looking for the right parts.
