Hey Steve,

Great stuff man!

My dad and I plan on driving Raleigh to Cedar Island the last Friday of this month in my '83. We have to be back in Raleigh by noon the very next day but maybe we can meet up for a beer. Probably going to grab a seafood dinner and hotel room on the beach Friday night.

Steven, that is a nice drive.

Back when I had the job that enabled me to acquire my 928, I was in your area during hurricane Ophelia. It was only a Cat 1 -but passed over land right at M.C. if I recall correctly. I was in a hotel in Havelock the night it showed up and worked my appointment at CGH the next morning -while the street crews cleared debris -so I could get to Sea Level afterward. "Downeast" takes on a whole new meaning when the water level is higher than the road!

My wife did exactly the same thing! I had driven, oh, fifty miles or so, when I remembered that we don't actually have a kid, so I turned around and came home just in time to see my wife making out with my neighbor, right there in the street! So I drove over them both, then reversed over them for good measure. The catalytic converter sustained some damage, and I replaced it with an X-pipe, which sounds awesome! So some good came out of what could have been an unpleasant situation. Epic indeed!

(It's a slow day....)

Steven,

Great story, thanks for sharing!

It's going to be a while, before our favorite road is open...

thanks for the offer....we are down to the cosmetic stuff now...but if you feel like heading to the beach, give me a ring... we can lay some laminate and have a few cocktails..

David...
sounds great. Let me know when you are coming down. Would love to get together and check out your ride... and have a beer.

Jim
Looks beautiful...
we rarely get any snow... only two days below freezing here all winter...We have been having a lot of 70's this winter.... has made for a very busy spring in the landscape business.
