Intermediate Plate Wear

Intermediate Plate Wear
I am doing a clutch replacement on MY '85 and am needing to know a few things about the condition of my Intermediate Plate.
When I push down on the ring section in the area of the three H adjusters there is a difference in spring tension in each location. One of the springs is very easy to push down and has enough return pressure to make light contact on the H adjustor.
The second spring takes a little more effort to compress and the third spring takes even more effort to push down and returns to the H adjustor to make very good contact. Is this an indicator of worn springs and warrant replacement of the Intermediate Plate?
Also can this just be a need to move the H adjustors to make better contact regardless of the weaker spring pressure and, can the I.P. be adjusted on the bench?

All three springs should be about same. How much they being different affects actual workings of the setup is another question. You can move H adjusters to any position you want to. Once you install clutch back they will move back to position they need to be and stay there as long as H movement is tighter than it needs to be. H only move when clutch disks wear out. Unless you stop them from moving they can't compensate for weak springs.

Thanks Erkka,
The H adjusters seem to be in good condition and are stiff when I adjust them.
The difference in the spring pressure does concern me as this will affect good operation of clutch engagement and early wear.

Greg,
You are lucky, I bought one with a PP and it is the wrong year for my car.
Come over and look to see if you can use, and we can trade IP for dead president pictures.
Cheers,
Andre
PS the springs are unreal tight as are the h-tabs.
