Default Sound proofing and Speakers

Hello All,
84 Euro here,
Well i fixed my door mirror that was loose. I had to file 2 screw driver slots in the top where the wire comes out, but i added a dab of loctite, hopefully it wont ever come loose again.
I did take off tte door panel though because the vinyle was coming loose. I did find some neat sound proofing material at Home depot, it was a 1/16 inch foam that comes in rolls and used for the bottom of the kitchen drawers. Looks like it will sound proof real good. One question though, do i sound proof over the hole where the speaker goes ? Is the door itself used for some kind of bass. I notice i have these little 707 speakers in the doors, but there really isnt any base to them at all.
what do you all do to increase the base, it seems my stereo has none at all.

No affiliation, but sharkwoofer looks like a kick-*** product to add base.

I bought the Infinity 10 sub that just sits on the rear deck, no mounting involved as the weight will keep it in place, unless you are a hard corner driver, then you can screw it to the floor. Has 100 watts built-in...works great and is easily removed. Almost anyplace has it.

Looks like they have a 200 watt version now... or maybe mine is!!

For sound proofing, buy the sound deadening material of your choice and cover the entire rear area under the carpet. Even the piece that covers the spare tire hole. so that is can still be removed. Or if you use a sub in the hole...leave a cut out. It will keep the exhaust noise coming up from the battery compartment down a bit and tighten whatever base you generate in your rear hatch area.

The sharkwoofer has got to be 10x more better (accurate phrase) than the Infinity version.

Why you think and how do you know?......at least with the infinity unit you don't have to remove it if you need to remove/check the battery.

I have had [many] standalone subs before, and I have a sharkwoofer now.

It's about 30s effort to get the battery exposed.

Ok, good enough.

I am thinking of replacing rear seats with two custom sealed boxes. Never use them anyways and can later re-install when I go deaf.

*heh*

Big isnt always better..and unlike the SW, yer just advertising "steal me" to some low rung bass-thug.

Dont need to move a TON of air with two boxes, to get good response..good $ put into a better sub with a few Db better response..will outdrive two much much larger subs at the same job.

Seat cushions replaced with MEDIUM enclosures....sealed with two 10". Seat backs would remain in place for the stealth look.

I wouldn't be driving "bumping" through the hood anyways

One of Han's powered sharkwoofers would be my 1st choice. (Was not available when I did my sound system) or a good 10" sub with some power to it would be a good place to start. 77Tony

Nice set up
I am thinking of a system with the rear seat backs in their normal place for stealthiness (such a word?)

use the cushion part with small to medium sealed enclosure..venting to the rear
