Default G28/11 5-spd for sale

Not limited slip but a desirable Borg Warner 5-spd from an '86 US car. It has a 2.20 ratio and came out of a 64,000 mile car that was salvaged due to a fire in the CE panel. Not really sure of the value, but it appears that without the LS, $1350 OBO would be a good start. Can be picked up in Louisville KY or shipped at buyers expense.
I also have an extra set of factory shop manuals. One is the 6 volume set covering through the '86 models and the other is the full 9 volume set covering all models. My cars are both pre '86 so whichever one sells, I will keep the other.
6 volume set $225
9 volume set $350

Bump for lowered price on the trans. I am going to be installing my spare with the 2.74 ratio into my car so I want to get this out of my garage.
These are hard to find with the better shifting.

Is tis tranny compatible with a US 1983? In other words, direct replacement?

Thanks.

Don't know the details, but the PO of my '83 had a 1986 5 spd tranny installed

Hypothetical question for those in the know: What is involved in taking the diff gears/LSd from a G28.07 (Euro ) and putting them in this G28.11? Possible? What's required? Goal would be to get my Euro 2.72 gears and LSD into this box.

Also, what else to consider putting this in an 84 car?

External selector arms are different in '78-84 boxes. Using them and G28/11 will create super short shift even when normal factory selector is used. Other than that its direct bolt on to all but those '78-80 MY cars which has G28/03.

The shifter arm does have different hole spacing than the earlier ones but the shifter will be included in the sale. You can cut it down to make it a short shifter if needed.

The pinion gear of the differential doesn't come off the main shaft inside the transmission and needs to stay with the ring gear its matched to. I have no idea if the shaft/pinion though could be swapped between the two transmissions.

The ring gear however does come off of the LSD, so the LSD could be swapped by using the ring gear in the target transmission. You would also possibly need an adapter if the 07 has the early style differential, 928 motorsports has them.

2.20 v. 2.72 shouldn't be a deal killer but LSD is a must if you can do the swap.

I still don't get this obsession with LS? At the track, yes. But everyday driving, except in some occasional circumstances, who cares? Many people that come to these boards and become obsessed with it probably don't even understand what it does.
Even at the track, I am sure that there are only a handful of drivers here that it can really benefit. Put one of the Marks on this board and a handful of some other drivers here in an '84 non LS 5-spd and the rest of us in a '95 GTS 5 spd LS car and I bet none of us would beat them.

We are a funny lot, but predictable, we want the best, rarest, and it has zip to with logic or use.

I guess....
I figured people would be all over this. Not easy to find a G28/10,11,12... and up with the better built internals ready to go. Is it priced too high? I will give it a day or 2 here before throwing it on EBAY.
