If I hate Black so much.....
....why the hell did I paint this one BLACK!!!!
Repeated those words to myself.....over and over and over as I cut and buffed my sons car today.
I like black for the 5 minutes it stays clean, thankfully the wife and son are responsible for cleaning thier cars and I can wash mine once a month.

Tell me about it. I bought my first black car in 1996 (my 944S) and I swore I would never buy another black car.
I currently own four + a mocha brown which is as bad as black.

I agree but somehow now I have wound up with a black/tan BMW 530 and a black/tan 928. First black car I have had since 1974 when I had a black 65 ford galaxie 2 door post with that big *** 427. That car would scare you to death. The suspension could in no way keep up with the power. Fun car though on the straights.

I've had many black cars over the years and have one now. All you have to do is buy a large sized california duster and dust it quickly each morning. Takes less than a minute. After 2 weeks it will need to be washed or earlier if it rains. It will look awesome all the time if you do this. I just keep it in the car and make it a simple habit.
During a rainy winter all bets are off of course, just like with any other color. If you have OCD you can dust it more than once per day.

There was a time in the mid 1970's when I decided to try and break myself of the black DD habit cold-turkey. Bought a white car. It took at least as much care as black to keep it clean and perfect looking. And for all that work, it never looked as good as black. So after maybe six months, one of the black Lotii rotated into DD service again. Six months after that, the white car was taking up too much shop space, and a customer's wife decided she really liked it more than I did. Saw it again six months after that, and it was almost unrecognizable as the one I had sold. Kids, no cleaning, careless owner = disaster. She asked if I would bring it back to as-sold condition... Anyway...
My first car was a year-old red 356SC cab, with a blue '58 beetle for a winter driver. The Porsche came with me to California, beetle to a new owner in NJ as I left. Black cars as DD ever since, except for that one one loss of sanity. Lesser colors are, well, lesser colors.

Yup. Once you go black, you never go back. Three for three: '91 $$$$4-BLACK '05 Jaguar S-type sedan- BLACK (my DD) '10 Mazda Miata MX10 Roadster-BLACK (Wifes DD) Why do I always buy black automobiles???!!! Nothing looks nicer when they're clean.......however, like everyone says: they're never clean longer than 5 minutes.
