To be honest, I did not even clean them before installation.

I hope the cosmetic blemishes are the only problems you have. Dry blasting can leave residue. Hot soapy water should be used on anything like Cam covers and Intakes before they go back on the motor; after some procedure that has the potential to leave contaminants behind.. Good luck , Sounds like the oil wasnt released properly [out-gassed] before the parts were treated.

From the looks of your pictures it appears to me that you did get something on the PC during assembly. Look at the direction of the drips and look where they originate at the bolt. It is unlikely that the powdercoater would have proped up the parts in the same orientation that they would be installed on the engine. Those cam covers would have likely been laying flat and there wouldn't be an drips marks. Did you use any lubricant or cleaner on the bolts as you installed them?

Good luck with your claim. Let us know how it works out for you.

No carb ar brake cleaner or anything?

Frankly, I think you have to pull that intake again anyway to wash it, well.

Solvents, oils, anything volatile, needs to be driven out of the castings as vapour by heating. If you don't do that it will happen to a lesser degree when the parts heat up in normal service, but the vapour has no where to escape to, and will push/bubble the coating off. You'll see exactly the same issue (solvent/contaminant entrapment) under all sorts of other painted surfaces, and it will often occur in the first heat cycle.

I share the concern that you didn't ensure any blast media was out of the intake and other parts before you put them on ... do it now.

It would seem you got lucky once, personally I wouldn't try my luck a second time......

Lots of brushing of all the interior and a power wash isn't a bad idea.

Blast media isn't your friend if it gets into the engine......(There's threads here about what can happen and "it ain't pretty").

does the powder coater know that the intake and valve cover is made from Magnesium alloy not aluminum?

Check for sand particles in your intake ports.

Yes, you might want to let them know before the second round that they're dealing with Magnesium alloy....it does make a difference.
