My bad
I forgot you had an early car which changes everything. Your car has 2 seperate regualtors for the rear and I have no experience in altering those not am I sure you'd want to remove them without adding much larger fronts.

Many differences between 928 race cars and street cars. While stock 928s are 50/50 weight the stripped out racers are closer to 60% front 40% rear. True race tires what ever size have so much more stick and fronts are usually much wider.
The bigger brakes are not going to stop Sterlings car any quicker the limiting factor is his tires. Huge brakes are only needed for repeated high speed "panic stops" . Bottom line on brakes is if you have enough clamp from the caliper to rotor to lock up tires that determines how much energy the brake system can absorb. Much like if you have enough horsepower to spin the tires more horsepower does not make you accelerate faster. You have exceeded the available traction of the tires.
But big brakes and rotors look good and that is often all that matters on a street car.

I run a 355 Brembo (with a custom hat to my specs) on the S4 caliper: works great. I run an in-car proportioning valve for rear balance. Pretty inexpensive setup at $1400.

Broke the setup in on my 951S. See compared to a 996TT as well from West Dillard's race car

Are you clearancing the caliper to work with a 355 rotor? That's a huge change from stock.

no, just notched the pads to sit deeper into the caliper: about 1/4" or so, gets 100% annulus coverage. I made a spacer to ensure there was spring pressure on top of the pads ala stock. Talked to Brembo & they had no issues with that approach. Ran it for a month on the 951S to break it all in: like it!

You haven't ridden in Sterling's beast.

Additionally, I am recommending a passenger side brake pedal for those passengers that continuously try to stomp holes through Sterling's wooden central fuse panel cover.

u must have fancy book learning......

In my avatar I have 265/35-18's on 18x8.5x52mm offset in the rear....the fronts are 18x10x65mm with 265/35-18....the 8.5" rim would not clear the front, but the higher offset 10" did....no problems....

What is the diameter and cross-section of the rotor for that front F50 brake set?

At least internet enjuneers are unbiased ! Asking Brembo "engineers" if you need bigger brakes. A bit like asking a chemist at Phizer if you should use Rogaine

So is it recommended to upgrade to a 33 rear regulator on a street 928 if you have, say, 235/40 tires in the front and 285/30 tires in the rear?

I think the standard F50 setup uses 355x32, which is what I used as well.

they look great. so the pad sits down in the caliper further, but are you or brembo worried about the off center pressure of the pistons on the pad. or uneven wear?? nice idea though. now, im rethinking using the 355mm cayanne rotors again. the caliper raidus issue was killing the idea for me.

So the 44/36 mm front and 30mm rear brembo's is what I have now, the fronts are way to grabby for me, with the current bias.
