Default Alarm disable

1982 WSM mentions a method to disable the factory alarm in the below image.

Anyone ever tried this? and what else does that plug Z feed?

I did this on my '82 about 17 years ago. No alarm problems since.

So just unplug it and jumper the 2 terminals and tape it off?

Don't even have to tape it off.

Jumper the terminals on the plug or the board?

Board. Note to all, not all early cars are like 82.
84 is different, z4+z6, for 84 euro + 84 USA.
Non-alarm car has plastic pseudo plug with embedded jumper.

It's real simple.

You just locate "Plug Z" at the bottom of your central electrical panel in the passenger side foot well, pull plug Z off and insert a jumper between terminals 1 and 6 of where plug Z used to plug in.

The jumper is simply about two inches of wire with a spade connecter crimped onto each end.
