Default '91 GT - Chicago dealer

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/?cmd=...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

Has a few problems disclosed by dealer:

"The power mirror switch does not work. The blower motor does not turn on. The windshield is cracked. The interior trunk release button does not work."

From the pics I see obvious overspray on the rails under car. The rear bumper signage is not original and the replacement is GTS font. Would seem to be a re-spray or paint, not necessarily a negative, but I wonder why the bumper was altered. Oh, yeah, the 14 pin cover is missing. Otherwise looks fine. No affiliation.

Link works for me. The car doesn't look too bad, cleaned up very well I'm guessing.

"This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available" and "sale pending" in the ad. Nice car.

I am pretty sure that this car was being sold in TN for $13,500 with the bill of sale and not a title.
They must have cleared that up.

How does a dealer sell a car with a cracked windshield?

The Autocheck in the auction shows it was in TX its whole life up until the end of last year.

I think this was hallowzeve's 91GT that was for sale on the Houston craigslist by a dealer in mid December for $12,000. I'd emailed him on Christmas eve but he'd sent it to the auto auction already.

Yup thatsa mine. They painted it and put that stupid f'n sticker on the rear. If you look at the options it was actually a model tag delete car.

She was a good one with lots of potential, but I was starting to suspect the driver side head gasket. I did get it from the guy in TN and titled it in TX.
Good car, hard to find GT, but I just don't have the time for them currently.
It'll be missed for sure.

Greetings. I'm the person that bought Hollowzeve's 91-GT. Will be my third 928 but it's been a while since I sold my 87 (1999 I think?) I will keep the information about the head gasket in mind. I suspected someone repainted it to sell. Did it need a repaint that bad? I'm hoping they did a decent job and I don't have to replace a lot of body gaskets.

That's not over spray under the car, they probably power washed it, showing some factory paint.
On this picture you can tell they applied some paint on the area were the drivers side front fender is bent, on the lip. I have seen a few 87 + 928s with this bend on their drivers side front fender, at the exact same location, mine included.
I wander if it happened from the factory hand building the cars or what. Paint eventually cracks and chips off. Maybe it happens from bottoming out hard, but I have only seen this on the drivers side.

Congrats,
and it was just a suspicion regarding the Head gasket. I saw that it had a loss some coolant on occasion and I haven't seen it evidenced anywhere else.
I realized after selling it that I still had the RDK computer for it, and some Documentation. If you pay shipping, it's yours. Id rather it stay with the car personally. I'd offer up the original wheels too but the check has been sent for them. Sorry.
Enjoy
