How to know option ?
I just buy a fiew month ago a S4 1987.
The garage who got this car was embarassed and know nothing about this type of car.
So just legal paper for plate and nothing more. How could I know all the options on this car ?
VIN ? or else ?
Thanks.
Jean-Louis.

Try this:
http://www.928s4vr.com/codes.htm
That should give you a good start with the vin and option codes.

Post the VIN and someone can run it through PET7.1, which will spit out all the options for that car.

Don't worry most of the options work fine, its the standard equipment that needs fixing.
Do you have a set of manuals yet?
Is there a good 928 mechanic in Montreal?

Raff is softer leather what was extra cost option in '88-95. Normal leather has small holes in seats which raff do not have.
S, K, L and R are material names.
K = leatherette
S = cloth
L = leather
R = raff leather
They describe what material was used to make each part of the seat. For example SKK means seat centers are cloth while bolsters, sides and console between rear seats etc are leatherette.

Since were on the topic! Someone help me out.. Heres the info out of my Warranty & Maintenance Manual (matches the stickers in the trunk):
VIN # WPOJBO924GS862526
928 910 (not sure what the 910 stands for?)
M2843-81G G2811-11G (engine & tranny - specifics I'm not sure?)
L908 87 (GPW - not sure what the 87 "interior code" stands for?)
I know the other standard option codes.
Thanks!

910 is more specific bodystyle and means '83-86 US S.

Thanks! Thats half the mystery solved. I have a two tone black & "champ" (i think its champagne) leather interior with carpet that matches the Champagne.. I believe its full leather - front to back / side to side - and its beautiful. It looks more tan then anything after 25 years but has held up nicely - just some pulling up on two of the front vents. Other than that its damn near flawless So the codes dont really matter, but I'm trying to get a clue on exactly what the "87" stands for... so I'll KNOW... LOL!

Hi danglerb,
I was outside a couple of days.
To answer you, by following a link found in a thread, I managed to have the manuals on a electonic version.
In terms of a mechanic in Montreal, I do not know!
I have my car since early December and I store it for winter.
Also when I bought it, I ride with 2 weeks and it ran well.
Only a small electrical leak that I'm fixing now with fellowing harness ....
I do a lot of mechanical myself, but I'll find out anyway, could need it.
